Our deep-rooted passion for coffee propels us forward

"Dad used to say this coffee was the first to arrive in Inzá," Uncle Cenem tells us, while skillfully selecting the best fruits for the seeds we requested.

Samuel and Sofía decide to move their family to the countryside. Samuel, a agronomist born in Bogotá, and Sofia, a coffee grower from Inzá and granddaughter of Marcelino Campo, choose to live in Inzá, in the indigenous reserve of Yaquivá.

They aim to build a place where they can have organic food and a clean, peaceful environment. Here, the specialty and organic coffee inherited from their grandfather Marcelino has been the driving force behind achieving this dream

Noah is born, Samuel and Sofia's son, just as they settle into the community, working hard to organize an organic farm and navigate producing and selling their first batches of independent dried parchment coffee beans. The payment received doesn't quite allow for growth or progress... Meanwhile, it's a time when Inzá is overcoming recent periods of violence, sadness, and tense calm.

Samuel with the support of his parents Luz y Julio founded Mulita group SAS in Inza, Tierradentro Cauca. A familiar business with the mission to be the bridge that connects our coffee harvest directly with the costumers. at begin is enfrentarse a los intermediarios locales, comerciantes experimentados de las exportadoras.

Samuel works with various cooperatives, gaining invaluable experience and achieving significant success in procurement operations, quality control, and certifications for over 200 farms in Inzá. He also spearheads new export processes to the United States, Germany, France, and Latin America, resulting in a total export of 180 tons of green specialty and organic coffee and accumulated sales of $1.3 million

In early 2022, Samuel resigns from the cooperatives he was working with due to administrative differences that affect the income of coffee farmers: disproportionate non-operational expenses, mixing of political interests with operations, continuous turnover of unqualified personnel. Samuel returns to Mulita Group, leading a small, dreamy project, but one with strong foundations and values, hoping to generate a transparent benefit for its community and customers.

Samuel and Sofia propose a new collaborative trading model focused on ensuring fair prices for coffee farmers. Mulita expands, welcoming 13 partner farms and creating a new coffee brand inspired by the natural beauty of the region, Fincas la Orquídea y el Oso.

We made our first export to the United States, where around 40 producers from our community collectively gathered the coffee. Samuel and Sofia handled quality control, while Samuel organized logistics with strategic allies, achieving excellent turnaround times for the customer and a payment 40% higher than the local market.
