From 1920

Our deep-rooted passion for coffee propels us forward

The Orchid and Bear Forest

Terroir

Our grandparents fought to preserve our Nasa indigenous culture, finding refuge in the high mountains of the Andes, a unique ecosystem that hosts the Páramos, extraordinary trees, orchids, and the mighty spectacled bear, our elder brother.

It’s the Terroir that we’re intimately familiar with and it knows us too, as we’ve lived in harmony with Mother Nature for generations.

But, over the last 80 years, human intervention has transformed it into an endangered ecosystem, damaging its biodiversity.

the path

Monoculture and pesticides, pushed on us, altered our ancestral farming methods for many. This is the real deal, without any greenwashing. We’re changing it up.

We’re small-scale specialty coffee producers, a path that connects us with buyers who share our ideas, motivating our communities to reclaim organic agriculture, and together, achieve the preservation of The Orchid and Bear forests.

What should a good farmer do?

We’ve dedicated ourselves to bringing our farms closer to our customers, making them a viable life project.

We join hands with customers committed to quality and sustainability, reshaping the coffee industry for social equity and environmental respect.

We delve into organic coffee, constantly pushing the boundaries of conventional agriculture, while honoring the coffee legacy of our grandparents.

Getting back on track

In early 2022, Samuel resigns from the cooperatives he was working with due to administrative differences that affect the income of coffee farmers: disproportionate non-operational expenses, mixing of political interests with operations, continuous turnover of unqualified personnel. Samuel returns to Mulita Group, leading a small, dreamy project, but one with strong foundations and values, hoping to generate a transparent benefit for its community and customers.
